Time to brag

Our Mission President came from Jackson, MS to our Sacrament meeting today. In his testimony he said that there are 120 missionaries in our mission and nearly 1/10th of them are in Slidell ward. A lot of testimonies were given by new converts. I was so touched by the testimony of our dear friends Ann and Bill who are each doing missionary work themselves. Two of our exceptional investigators came to church for the first time today. Week before last between the young elders, young sisters and Sister Goodin and I we gave 55 lessons in one week. Sister Goodin and I are, of course are a very small part of that, but it's wonderful to be a part of something so great. I feel such love for those we teach and those who have recently joined the church here. It's a greater privilege than I can explain to even be connected with them. Heavenly Father has given me such a gift by sending me on this mission. I'm truly grateful.

Baptisms

I took this collage of our recent baptisms from Sister Matson's blog. I am going to have to do better about taking pictures myself. These baptisms have been a wonderful experience for all of us. My favorite part of our last baptism which took place yesterday is that it was on the same day as the baptism of my little grand-daughter Malia. It was a beautiful experience to witness a baptism that day. I truly loved the talks by two newly baptized brothers in our ward Bill Crisler and Tommy Eaton. They were very moving and personal. Also an incredible song about repentance was beautifully sung by our own little missionary Sister Beckstrand. One of our investigators Brian was obviously touched as he cried through the whole song. I cried too. Partly because I love the song, partly because no one cries alone when I'm around. Brian is planning to come to church today, as is David our other very special investigator. I have really loved being involved in teaching each of these men. I've also had the privilege of getting to know Terry the man who was just baptized as he come into our center nearly every day. He got a job at Wal-Mart just last week. Many good things are happening in his life. It's delightful to watch the progress of these wonderful people. Heavenly Father has truly blessed me.

We had a wonderful day with these exceptional missionaries. They go from serious spiritual amazing gospel teachers as we taught David at 1 PM to crazy little girls posing at 4 PM. Never a dull moment. I laugh every time I look at this picture. I'll never forget these amazing young woman and their influence for good. It just plain doesn't get any better than this.
